About
The Organization
Founded in 1945, The Campus Lantern serves Eastern Connecticut State University as a student-funded and -run campus media outlet. With a staff of approximately a dozen undergraduates, we currently publish biweekly in a tabloid format. Any member of the campus community is welcome and encouraged to join us at our weekly meetings in the Student Center (Wednesdays, 3 p.m.) or drop by our office at any time.

The Web Site
The Campus Lantern went online-only in 2006, becoming the first college newspaper in the United States to do so. The publication thrived for some time with that configuration, but lack of a well-established workflow combined with typical college newspaper turnover meant that sustainability was an issue (hence the reversion to a printed product). This iteration of campuslantern.org is an attempt to integrate the workflows associated with print and online publishing. We appreciate any and all feedback.
