Two Nights in the Life of a Spring Weekender

It all started with the email that Ken Bedini sent out, warning us from attending UCONN’s Spring Weekend. At first, I will admit, it did set me off from going.

However, the more I thought about it, the more it made me want to go. Doesn’t it always work out that way, someone telling you not to do something makes you want to do it more? It has been a long and difficult semester and to be honest, partying in a large group of drunk students sounded like a perfect way to let off steam.

Spring Weekend Experience

What’s the deal with creepers? On Friday I went to Uconn early so I wouldn’t hit any of the many spot checks I was anticipating. After a delicious meal in the dining hall and gathering my “supplies” for the evening I got ready in Whitney Hall’s men’s bathroom (I was on a guys floor and it had some kid already vomiting in the stalls).

Lakeview Restaurant Review

Looks can be deceiving, and that was true upon entering The Lakeview Restaurant in Coventry. Located on Coventry Lake, the restaurant owned by Leo Papa, is a lovely summer spot for someone looking to relax on a deck, overlooking the water. The outside looks like a typical biker bar but the inside is decorated nicely with a proper sit down restaurant feel.

The Little Store that Could… But Couldn't

As I’ve been told all my life, all good things must come to an end, and that is still relevant to me now. My beloved job at Starbucks North Windham is coming to an end, and it is not by choice. The corporate Starbucks offices in Seattle have decided that our little store isn’t up to their money making standards and we need to close after only one year of being open.
